Friends and other links

I last updated this page in November 2006 (it's nearly June 2008 as of this writing) and it was getting preposterously outdated.  A lot of useful links can be found in the blogroll, but why even have this page if it's not going to be current and useful?

Friends

Alma's LiveJournal: Alma has a blog, and it comments on things in much the way this site does.  Plus she's my fiancée.
Craig Barker's blog: I don't do quiz bowl anymore, and Craig doesn't post a ton anymore.  But he's a good guy, so he can keep this spot in the links.
Greg's blog: Movies and cranky social commentary from the king of cranky social commentary.
Leah's blog: Knitting, books, and sometimes other things too.
    Rudnik's blog: Now retired.
Tyler's LiveJournal: More commentary on pop culture and other topics, as well as the occasional inspiring list post.

Blogs o' Mine

Addicted to Lost: You've only got two more years to read this blog!
Diary of a Mad Cubs Fan: You've only got the rest of my life to read this blog!
Soccer Blog America: You've only got until 2010 before this blog gets readable again!
The Junk Monitor: Actually a podcast and not a blog.  Scripted blather about why new candy and etc. is good or sux.

Other Links

    Fire Joe Morgan: Sadly retired.
Bill Simmons: Something of a parody of himself after all the years at ESPN, but I still read him regularly, so I'm not sure what I'm complaining about.
The Comics Curmudgeon: Riffs on the ridiculousness of the strips that continue to grace the "funny papers" against all logic.
The Straight Dope: Cecil Adams knows all.  Or at least he's really good at looking stuff up.  Either way, the archives can suffice as diversion for quite some time.
Toothpaste For Dinner: Frequently hysterical, often strange little cartoons containing slice of life jokes and/or totally surreal humor.  There are other webcomics I read frequently as well - Penny Arcade, PvP, Rockwood, Sinfest, Ugly Hill and Diesel Sweeties - but TFD probably has the most universal appeal, as bizarre as that may sound upon first reading it.
The Superficial, I Watch Stuff, and Go Fug Yourself: You have Alma to blame for these, mostly.  All three feature usually hilarious commentary on topics of the day, mostly (in order) Hollywood gossip-type stuff, upcoming films, and bad, bad celebrity outfits.  Aside from the middle one I don't inherently care about that stuff, but the writing is funny enough to keep me coming back.
