Not Gambling

    I often tell people that I don't gamble, at which point they say "What about the football and basketball pools?"  The answer is that I really don't consider these things gambling.  First of all, I run them, so I get the satisfaction of indulging my inner stats wonk as a fringe benefit.  Second of all, these things are a one-off shot every year, so it's not like I run the risk of falling deep into gambling debt.  Third of all, fuck you, I love bowl season and March Madness.

This year it's definitely not gambling, as no actual money is involved.
