Eagle Landing Miniature Golf (Happy Valley, OR) - Green Course

July 21, 2011, afternoon

Apparently I was still shaking off whatever had afflicted me on the back nine at the Best Little Roadhouse, because the first six holes at Eagle Landing were an utter disaster.  To be fair to me, I was playing (here as in Salem) with a house putter rather than my own, but that excuse only goes so far.  I parred the first hole, then yanked two consecutive short putts at #2 to take a double-bogey 4.  After another par at #3, I bogeyed the next three holes, and suddenly found myself at +5 through just six holes!  Part of me considered walking off the course right at that moment - but I'd prepaid for 36 holes, so it would have been a bit of an expensive sulk.  I began to heat up, recording scores of 2 on each of the next three holes going into the turn, two of which were for birdie.  I hit the turn at just +3.  The back nine didn't start off that much better - I lipped a birdie at #10, could only par #11 and bogeyed #12 to go back to +4, but I birdied three of the next four holes to get down to just +1 going into the 17th.  Unfortunately, I bogeyed it, made all the worse when I birdied #18.  Still, after the start I had, finishing at just one-over 46 wasn't that bad.
