Enchanted Castle Black Forest Glow Golf (Lombard, IL)
June 4, 2011, afternoon
Alma and I were looking to play some mini golf while in the southwest suburbs, but before we could get to any course, a thunderstorm rolled in. Fortunately, Enchanted Castle has an indoor course which, despite the name, is not one of those glow-in-the-dark courses. It was, however, a mere nine holes, which was a little strange. I started well - after my first shot at #1 rolled back to the tee, I was able to knock the second shot in for a par save, and followed that with an actual ace at #2. After birdieing #3, though, I bogeyed #4 and then doubled #5, twice hitting the roof of a tunnel the ball needed to roll through and having it trickle back to the tee as a result. But I birdied #6 to get back to even par and saved par for the round with a long second shot at the eighth while leaning against a fence. Alma was even par through three holes, but had the ball roll back to the tee three times at the fourth and had the same roof issue as I did at the fifth. She finished fine but settled for 28.
