Plot Summary for

Tomorrow's Another Night (1998)

    Veteran detective Jack Howell is showing his new assistant, Atkins, who has been out of police academy three days, around the station when the phone rings.  It is an anonymous tip linking three suspects to a recent drug deal.  The suspects, Rex Rodriguez, Alan Porter, and Doug Stokes, are brought in for questioning.  Rodriguez and Porter have both dealt with Howell before.   Rodriguez jokes around and Porter questions Howell's ability to close a case.   Howell is willing to beat the answers he wants out of the suspects, as Atkins questions his superior's motives.  The two become embroiled in a battle of ethics as each wants to get justice his own way.
